History of English medium curriculum in Bangladesh is not new. It has been practicing since the East-Pakistan era. However, this curriculum has been vastly spread, expected and popular from 90’s. Schools follow the General Certificate of Education (GCE) syllabus under two operating boards named Edexcel and University of Cambridge. The UK based GCE certification program is one of the finest educational certificate provided internationally. This GEC program provides two category of certificate- Ordinary level (O level) and Advanced level (A level). These programs are equivalent of SSC and HSC certification program under the national curriculum board. The examination takes place twice a year under the supervision of British Council.
